Course Aim:

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to discuss and demonstrate:

  • Forklift’s various parts and components, their usage and limitation
  • Safe and efficient operation of a forklift (counterbalance lift truck) within the workplace, including their duties and responsibilities and the risks associated with truck use
  • Pre-use inspection, appropriate maintenance tasks and reporting processes

Course Contents:

The contents of the course will cover in-depth the theoretical and conceptual knowledge required in operating, managing, and maintaining a Forklift in the safest manner without compromising on efficiency.

The range of topics that may be covered in this course includes the following:

  1. Regulations
  2. Roles & responsibilities of a forklift operator
  3. Anatomy of Forklift, its controls and limitations
  4. Forklift maintenance and care (incl. battery care and/or refueling)
  5. Load assessment
  6. Truck and load stability
  7. Pre-use inspection
  8. Accurate steering
  9. Driving in confined areas and narrow aisles
  10. Handling of palletized and non-palletized loads
  11. Stacking of loads
  12. Handling loads in racking systems (across low, eye and high levels)
  13. Negotiating inclines
  14. Vehicle loading and unloading
  15. Best practices

The actual content of the course, their duration, permitted batch size, mode of delivery etc. will depend upon the selected variant – Basic, Plus or Pro.

Certification:

All attendees will receive a course ‘attendance’ certificate while the delegates who successfully pass the assessments will be issued with an internationally recognized and ‘certificate’ and ‘ID Card’. The said certificates and ID card will come with a 3-year validity
